Sts. Peter and Paul Academy nurtures the development of the whole child; offering opportunities for learning both in and out of the classroom setting.
Students develop their leadership skill in many different arenas including Student Council, Principal Corp, Leading Morning Prayer, participating in Mass planning, and school plays.
Students are selected to be in the Principal Corp to develop their leadership skills through:
- Leading school tours
- Acting as greeters for guests
- Accepting responsibility for specific jobs for Mass, school plays, musicals, talent show, and other special occasions.
Student Council members are elected by their peers after they present a speech explaining their abilities to be in that position and how they will represent their classmates. They are responsible for many service projects, working with the teachers to develop their ideas and collaborating with the principal on special projects.
All students are responsible for leading the Morning Prayer. Each day the students gather to start the day with prayer. Each student has the opportunity to lead the prayer, ask for petitions, and make morning announcements.
Every other year the 7th and 8th grade go to Washington, D.C. for their Junior High trip. Upon return students are required to develop a power point presentation about specific events or activities that took place on the trip and present this to the entire student population.
